Killa, 29 Jan, 2025: The traditional Sengrak Festival of the Molsom community was inaugurated yesterday at Killa Monitang Para in Gomati district. MLA Rampada Jamatia inaugurated the festival, emphasizing its cultural significance.
He stated that the Sengrak Festival is an age-old tradition of the Molsom community, where they worship their ancestral deities. He also highlighted the state government’s commitment to preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of all communities.
Among the dignitaries who addressed the event were Sujan Kumar Sen, Assistant Sabhadhipati of the Gomati Zilla Parishad; Baganhari Molsom, Chairman of Killa BAC; and Hoda Okra Manindra Mohan Jamatia. The General Secretary of the Molsom Dofa, Madhucharan Molsom, delivered the welcome speech, while Molsom Rai, Garocharan Molsom, presided over the event.
