Agartala, January 28, 2025: A mega eye treatment camp was organized at Dhalai District Hospital from January 22 to January 24. During this camp, 92 individuals with cataract problems underwent free cataract surgeries.
The camp witnessed the participation of ophthalmologist surgeons from various hospitals across the state. The surgical team included Dr. Madhusudan Das, Dr. Shyamrup Bhattacharya, and Dr. Chandam Acharya, supported by Dr. Dipankar Bhowmik, Dr. Suman Sarkar, Dr. Debashree Sarkar, Dr. Jennifer Debbarma, Dr. Sanjay Sahu, Dr. Ashish Meshram, and others.
The nursing team comprised Biswajit Bhattacharjee, Kamali Debbarma, Shyamshree Bhattacharjee, Milan Debnath, Mary Hallam, and Soma Bhattacharya. Assisting in the operating theater were OT assistants Bishal Debbarma and Sumit Chakma, while optometrists Bishwajit Goswami and Sanjana Debbarma provided additional support.
It is noteworthy that all 92 surgeries were successful. Post-surgery, patients received free black glasses and essential medicines.
This achievement was highlighted in a press release issued by the Health Department.
