Two Outsiders with Pistols Arrested Late at Night in Dharmanagar; Sensation Across North Tripura
Tripura 25 Jan, 2025: In a late-night operation based on secret intelligence, police apprehended two inter-state smugglers with pistols from a hotel in Dharmanagar. The operation was carried out under the leadership of Dharmanagar Intelligence Branch and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO).
At around 2 AM on Friday, the two suspects arrived at Dharmanagar railway station via an express train carrying a 0.32-caliber pistol. They subsequently checked into Hotel North Continental to spend the night. However, the intelligence branch and the SDPO were already tipped off about their movements. Acting on this information, a large police team laid a trap in the city. Later, the two suspects were apprehended from room number 27 on the second floor of the hotel.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Niraj Kumar (21), son of Maheshwar Yadav, and Indal Mukhia (34), son of the late Muktishwar Mukhia. Both are residents of Samastipur district in Bihar. During initial interrogation, they reportedly confessed to their criminal activities.
The police, citing the sensitivity of the investigation, have refrained from disclosing detailed information. However, questions remain about why these men entered Tripura with firearms and who might be connected to their activities. Superintendent of Police (SP) Avinash Rai is leading a rigorous investigation and intense questioning to uncover the truth.
Additionally, a case has been filed under the Arms Act against the arrested individuals. This incident comes shortly after firearms and other weapons were seized in Kanchanpur, North Tripura. The back-to-back events have sparked significant concern and speculation.
Now, all eyes are on the SP and the police force to see if they can unravel the mystery behind this incident.
