129th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Celebrated: CM Stresses Highlighting His Legacy to the Youth
Agartala 23 Jan, 2025: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a legendary leader of India’s freedom movement, remains an eternal symbol of sacrifice for the nation’s independence. His immense contributions and selfless devotion to the cause must be effectively conveyed to the younger generation, emphasized Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha during the celebration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s 129th birth anniversary at the Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan ground today.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, the Chief Minister said Netaji was an uncompromising warrior in India’s struggle for independence. Despite being imprisoned 11 times by British rulers, he remained undeterred. Netaji declared war against the British and formed the Indian National Army (INA) with political and diplomatic support from Japan. His iconic slogan, “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” still resonates in the hearts of Indians. The Chief Minister urged the youth to imbibe the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice exemplified by Netaji. Recognizing his contributions, the central government has declared his birth anniversary as Parakram Diwas.





Dr. Dilip Kumar Das, Vice President of the school’s governing committee, also addressed the gathering. Other dignitaries present included Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, Corporator Ratna Dutta, and School Committee Secretary Tapan Chakraborty.
The event began with floral tributes to Netaji’s portrait by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries. Following the inaugural ceremony, CM Dr. Manik Saha flagged off a grand procession. Students and teachers from Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan and other schools actively participated in the colorful march, commemorating the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
