22nd January, Agartala: The much-awaited Pithe Puli Utsav 2025, a celebration of Bengalis rich culinary and cultural heritage, concluded on a high note on 20th January, 2025 at Mukti Sangha, leaving attendees with unforgettable memories of joy, flavors, and traditions.
The three-day festival, which began on January 17, brought together food enthusiasts, artisans, and cultural connoisseurs to revel in the timeless charm of Bengalis iconic pithe-puli delicacies. Organized by Mukti Sangha, In-Association with Amar Tripura and Curated by Agartala Events For You the event paid homage to the traditional art of making rice-based sweets that have been a part of Bengalis winter festivities for centuries.
The festival saw enthusiastic participation from locals and visitors alike, with over 5,000 attendees during its Four days. The event not only celebrated Bengalis traditional food culture but also created a platform to support local artisans and home-based food entrepreneurs.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Sam Bhattacharjee, Convener of Pithe Puli Utsav expressed gratitude to all participants, performers, and visitors for making the event a grand success. “Pithe Puli Utsav is not just a festival; it’s a celebration of our roots and our community. It’s heartening to see the enthusiasm with which people have embraced our traditions.”
The festival featured a variety of events, including a Traditional Fashion Show titled “Threads of Fashion,” an Influencers Adda, and “Unmish” – a Recitation Evening. There was also an Alpana Competition, cultural performances such as Folk Dance, and musical performances by the renowned band “Meghbalika,” as well as Arnav Sarkar and Team Mourita Live, among others.
Additionally, a cooking workshop was conducted by Master Chef Amitabh Dutta from Assam. Notable attendees included IGP Avula Ramesh Reddy and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Crime & Intelligence) Krishnendu Chakravortty. The festival was also honored by the presence of Pinaki Chakraborty.
As the curtains came down on the festival, the aroma of freshly made pithe lingered in the air, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating next year’s celebrations.
