Plan to Develop Tourism Circuits in Every District of the State: Tourism Minister
Tripura 20 Jan, 2025: Yesterday, A plan has been undertaken to develop tourism circuits in every district of the state. Efforts are also being made to improve infrastructure to make tourism centers more attractive.
Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury stated this yesterday evening while inaugurating the three-day Pilak Archaeological and Tourism Festival at the Class 12 School Ground in West Pilak, South Tripura District.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Cooperative Minister Suklacharan Noatia, South Tripura Zilla Parishad Chairman Deepak Dutta, MLAs Swapna Majumder and Mailayu Mog, among others. The event was chaired by Tapas Dutta, Chairman of the Jolai Bari Panchayat Samiti.
While inaugurating the festival, the Tourism Minister further mentioned that the government has taken steps to develop various tourist attractions such as Unakoti, Chabimura, Narikelkunj, Matabari, and the 51 Pith Park in Bonduar. Additionally, efforts are being made to renovate tourist accommodations.
The minister highlighted plans to develop a tourism circuit in South Tripura District, encompassing Pilak, Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary, and Bankul Mahamuni Buddhist Tourism spots. He also emphasized the goal of placing Pilak on the global tourism map.
Speaking at the event, Cooperative Minister Suklacharan Noatia said festivals and fairs foster unity among different communities and promote cultural and commercial growth.
On the occasion of the Pilak Archaeological and Tourism Festival, exhibition stalls were set up by various state government departments, and cultural programs were organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. The welcome address at the inaugural event was delivered by DCM Saifuddin Ahmed.
