Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) Protests for Kokborok Script Recognition
Agartala 10 Jan, 2025: The Twipra Students’ Federation (TSF) staged a protest at Agartala today, urging legislators to address the Kokborok script issue during the ongoing winter session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
TSF General Secretary John Debbarma reiterated the organization’s demand for Kokborok question papers to be prepared in both Roman and Bengali scripts in all board examinations. He also emphasized TSF’s mission to push for the passage of a language script bill to officially recognize the Roman script for Kokborok.
Supporters of TSF held placards and raised slogans at the roundabout near Hotel Polo Towers. However, their march toward the Secretariat was halted by Tripura Police. Despite this, the organization successfully carried out a large rally that concluded at Astabal Ground.
