Agartala 9 Jan, 2025: Yesterday, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy visited the Agartala Book Fair today, accompanied by residents of Agartala Divyangjan Homes. During the visit, the minister interacted with the students, encouraging them to explore the fair and choose books of their interest.
Minister Tinku Roy was joined by Tapan Kumar Das, Director of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Dr. Chandrani Biswas, Joint Director, other departmental officials, and teachers from various homes. A total of 169 students from six Divyangjan Homes in West Tripura District participated in the visit to the book fair.
After the visit, the minister distributed fruits, snacks, and books among the students. He expressed his gratitude to the teachers for bringing the students to the book fair and commended their efforts.
Minister Tinku Roy announced plans to establish a skill development center aimed at empowering the residents of these homes. This center will provide technical education and vocational training to help them become self-reliant. He also encouraged the students to focus on their studies and work towards achieving independence.
