Dharmanagar 07 Jan, 2025: A human skeleton was recovered from an abandoned forest, sparking widespread sensation in the area. The incident occurred in Laxminagar Gram Panchayat under the jurisdiction of Churaibari Police Station in Dharmanagar subdivision, North Tripura district.
According to reports, on Tuesday morning, Churaibari Police Station received information that a human skeleton was discovered in the dense forest of Ward No. 3 in the Laxminagar Gram Panchayat area. Acting on the tip-off, Second Officer-in-Charge Pritimoy Chakma, along with a team, rushed to the spot and confirmed the report.
In the presence of an Executive Magistrate, the police recovered the skeletal remains, including bones and a skull, and sent them to Dharmanagar District Hospital morgue for further examination.
Second Officer-in-Charge Pritimoy Chakma stated that the skeleton appeared to belong to an adult and is estimated to be two to three years old. Meanwhile, locals claimed that a person went missing from the area around two and a half years ago. They suspect that the recovered skeleton might belong to the missing individual.
The police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation into the matter. The recovery of the skeleton from the dense forest has created a significant stir in the locality.
