Agartala, Nov 21: Youth are the driving force and the greatest asset of our nation, said Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha during the inauguration of the seven-day Heritage Festival organized by the Youth Development Centre at Swami Vivekananda Maidan today. He expressed confidence that the country’s youth will pave the way for a brighter future.
Highlighting the role of youth, the Chief Minister stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi considers the youth as the core strength of the nation. “Relationships are not merely forged by blood but through culture, tradition, and mutual exchange of values.
Our diverse cultural heritage binds us as a nation and is respected across the world,” said Dr. Saha. He further wished for the success of the festival, emphasizing that the participation of youth from various states in this event will strengthen national unity.
Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy also addressed the gathering, urging the youth to play an active role in building a prosperous India. He stressed the importance of tree plantation drives, creating a pollution-free environment, and establishing a drug-free society.
The festival’s inaugural program featured a welcome speech by Debashis Mazumder, President of the Youth Development Centre. Other dignitaries, including Vice Chairman of the State Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, CEO of World Youth Centre (New Delhi) Uday Shankar Singh, and Tapan Lodh, Chairman of the Youth Development Centre Advisory Committee, delivered their remarks. Pinku Das, Organizing Secretary of the Youth Development Centre, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks.
Notably, this year’s Heritage Festival has brought together youth representatives from 24 states, showcasing the vibrant and diverse cultural traditions of India. The event promises to promote national integration and mutual understanding through its rich cultural exchange.
