Agartala 20 November, 2024: Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha paid his last respects to Naik Shubankar Bhowmik of the Indian Army, who was martyred while on duty at the Siachen border. The mortal remains of the brave soldier arrived at MBB Airport, Agartala, today, where the Chief Minister offered floral tributes to honor the sacrifice of this son of Tripura.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and emphasized the bravery and dedication of Shubankar Bhowmik in protecting the motherland. “The courage and resolute spirit of Martyr Shubankar Bhowmik in safeguarding our nation will remain a matter of pride for us for years to come,” said Dr. Saha.
As a mark of respect for the martyr’s sacrifice, the state government has extended financial assistance of ₹4 lakh to his family from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Chief Minister assured the family of the state government’s unwavering support during this difficult time.
The solemn occasion saw participation from senior officials, army personnel, and citizens who gathered to pay their respects to the martyr, who will forever remain an inspiration for the state and the nation.
