Agartala, November 20, 2024: The Animal Resources Development Department of Tripura handed over appointment letters to 67 newly recruited Veterinary Officers (TVS Grade-V) today. The ceremony, held at the department’s conference hall in Gorkhabasti, was graced by Animal Resources Development Minister Sudhangshu Das, who urged the officers to play a positive role in boosting the rural economy and improving the socio-economic conditions of the people.
Addressing the event, the Minister said, “The Animal Resources Development Department plays a crucial role in strengthening the rural economy. The newly appointed officers must work with honesty, dedication, hard work, a positive attitude, and discipline to contribute effectively to this mission.”
Among the 67 officers receiving their appointment letters, 32 were women. The Minister also announced that administrative steps would soon be taken to fill 109 additional vacant posts in the department.
Focus on Self-Sufficiency in Animal-Based Food Production Minister Sudhangshu Das highlighted the importance of achieving self-sufficiency in animal-based food production in Tripura. He emphasized that the newly appointed officers must take on challenges and implement innovative plans to enhance this sector.
The Minister noted, “Animal resources have a significant role in the state’s development. Recognized as a primary sector, this field contributes 20-25% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) through agriculture and allied sectors. The government is prioritizing the development of these sectors.”
The event was attended by the department’s Secretary Deepa D. Nair, Director Dr. Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, and Additional Director Dr. B.K. Das. The Director delivered the welcome address. The Minister and other dignitaries handed over the appointment letters to the Veterinary Officers.
