Amarpur 2 November, 2024: The four-day Diwali festival was inaugurated by MP Biplab Kumar Deb at the Chandibari grounds near Amarpur. MP Deb spoke about the historic significance of the Mangal Chandi Mata temple, highlighting that it attracts both local and international tourists to the region, especially to Chabimura.
He mentioned that the state government has now developed better roads to Chabimura, leading to an increase in tourism, along with economic and social improvements for the local people.
MLA Ranjit Das, Amarpur Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Bikash Saha, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Anupam Chakraborty, and Amarpur Block BDO Utpal Das were also present. The event was chaired by Diwali Festival Celebration Committee Chairman Uttam Saha.
