Agartala is set to host the prestigious “Rajmata Jijabai Trophy 2024-25” as part of the 29th Senior Women’s National Football Championship. The tournament, beginning on October 20 at the Umakanta Mini Football Stadium, will witness participation from four states Tripura, Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Sikkim competing in Group G.
In a press conference held by the Tripura Football Association, Patron Ratan Saha and President Pranab Sarkar shared details about the tournament. They were joined by TFA Secretary Amit Chowdhury and other officials. During the press meet, the association extended heartfelt Bijoya and Diwali greetings to the media representatives.
The matches are scheduled for October 20, 22, and 24, with two matches each day, at 9:30 AM and 2:00 PM. All four teams, including Tripura, began their practice sessions today at the Umakanta ground.
The officiating team, consisting of Match Commissioner Sudeshna Mukherjee, Match Assessor Jaychandra Singh, and eight national and international referees (four male and four female), have also arrived and expressed satisfaction after inspecting the stadium.
In addition, the 78th Santosh Trophy ‘D’ Group Championship will also be held in Tripura from November 15, with teams from Manipur, Sikkim, Mizoram, and Tripura competing.
The TFA expressed confidence in hosting both events successfully with the support of all stakeholders.
