Khowai, October 18, 2024: Yesterday, Union Minister of State for Textiles and External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita, inaugurated the newly constructed Anganwadi Centre at Paschim Champachhara under Tulasikhar Block in Khowai yesterday. As part of his visit, the Minister reviewed various developmental projects in Khowai subdivision and held a meeting with officials to assess the progress of these initiatives.
During the review meeting, held at the conference hall of the Khowai District Magistrate’s Office, the Union Minister emphasized the central government’s commitment to the development of the northeastern region. He mentioned that the budget allocation for the region had been increased, and urged the public to support the state government’s welfare initiatives with a sense of patriotism.
Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran presented a detailed report through a PowerPoint presentation on the progress made by various departments. Additional District Magistrate Abhijit Chakraborty, Director of Handloom, Handicrafts, and Sericulture Arun Kumar, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Textiles Arnab Choudhury, Khowai Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charu Sharma, and Teliamura Sub-Divisional Magistrate Parimal Majumdar, along with other officials, attended the meeting.
After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected infrastructure development work at Bharat Sardar Para Senior Secondary School in Tulasikhar Block and interacted with members of local self-help groups. He then inaugurated the newly built Anganwadi Centre, constructed at a cost of ₹4,99,890.
The Khowai District Magistrate and other officials accompanied the Minister during his visit.
