Agartala, 8th October 2024: Tipra Motha leader Maharaja Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma voiced his grave concerns over the recent violent events in Kadamtala, which have shaken the region during the festive Durga Puja season. Drawing comparisons to earlier incidents in Gondatwisa and Ranir Bazar, Debbarma strongly condemned the loss of lives and destruction of homes.
Speaking from the heart, he stated, “It is painful to witness what is happening in Kadamtala. People are losing their lives, homes are being set ablaze, and this is happening even during Puja. We saw similar unrest in Gondatwisa and Ranir Bazar. There is clearly a hand behind this violence.”
Maharaja Pradyot emphasized the potential threat this violence poses to Tripura, likening it to the situation in Manipur, where communal unrest set the state back by decades. “I don’t want Tripura to face the same fate. There are forces at work trying to divide us, just like they did in Manipur.”
Calling for unity and restraint, Debbarma urged people of all communities to resist being drawn into this orchestrated violence. He remarked, “This is not about religion. Those behind this violence don’t believe in Allah or Ma Durga. Their goal is to create suffering for the poor, regardless of whether they are Muslim or Hindu, while they continue with their political games.”
His message was clear: stay calm and united. “I appeal to everyone to stay peaceful and not let these conspirators succeed. We must find the mastermind behind this chaos, someone who respects neither God nor Allah. Together, we can expose the true leader behind this turmoil.”
As tensions rise across Tripura, Debbarma’s call for solidarity and peace comes at a critical moment, reminding the people to hold onto their sense of community and not fall prey to divisive forces.
In a state already reeling from past incidents, Maharaja Pradyot’s words resonate deeply, offering a beacon of hope for peace amidst the unrest.
