Agartala, October 3, 2024: Externally aided projects are playing a pivotal role in Tripura’s overall development, emphasized Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha during a review meeting at the Secretariat today. Speaking at the meeting, held in the No. 2 Conference Room, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of adhering to the guidelines set by funding agencies for the successful implementation of these projects. He underscored the need for transparency throughout the execution process and urged officials to promptly report any challenges to higher authorities to ensure that the public can benefit from these projects in a timely manner.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy highlighted the significance of adhering to policy guidelines, ensuring timely execution, and implementing large-scale projects in phases. The Chief Secretary, J.K. Sinha, called for increased focus on meeting the deadlines for project implementation while following the stipulations of the funding agencies.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister’s Secretary, Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of the Public Works Department, Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Finance, Apurba Roy, Secretary of Tribal Welfare, Brajesh Pandey, and other senior officials from various departments.
Secretary Apurba Roy presented a detailed report on the current status of 10 externally aided projects being implemented in the state. His report covered key aspects such as project timelines, expenditure, and details of funding agencies. Additionally, discussions were held on proposed projects under the externally aided framework.
This review meeting reflected the state’s ongoing commitment to driving development through effective project management, with a strong emphasis on adhering to international funding norms while delivering benefits to the people.
