Agartala, August 13, 2024 – In a significant move to honor India’s freedom fighters and those who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s sovereignty, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in Agartala today. The event was held at the Umakanta Academy English Medium School, where a Tiranga Rally was flagged off by the Chief Minister.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, originally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022, aims to instill a sense of patriotism among citizens. This year, the campaign is being observed across Tripura from August 9 to 15, with various events scheduled under the initiative. The Youth Affairs and Sports Department organized the rally, which saw participation from students, police personnel, and officials from various departments.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the importance of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in awakening patriotic sentiments among the people of Tripura. He noted that the state has successfully observed the campaign over the past two years, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision. Dr. Saha urged citizens to continue their support and commitment to the nation’s progress, which aligns with the campaign’s objectives.
The rally, which commenced at the Umakanta Academy premises, traversed through various parts of the city, creating an atmosphere of national pride. Among the dignitaries present were Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Deepak Majumder, Tripura Women’s Commission Chairperson Jharna Debbarma, Secretary of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Director of Information and Cultural Affairs Tapan Kumar Das, and Director of Sports Satyabrata Nath.
Dr. Pradip Kumar Chakraborty, Secretary of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department, administered the oath to protect the nation to all participants. He also outlined the various programs planned as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, including Tiranga Yatras, Tiranga Runs and Marathons, Tiranga Concerts, Tiranga Canvas, Tiranga Pledge, Tiranga Tribute, Tiranga Mela, and Tiranga Selfie events. These activities are being organized across all districts of the state under the guidance of the respective district administrations.
In his speech, the Chief Minister also highlighted the success of other patriotic initiatives like ’75 Gram Seema Biro Ke Naam’ and ‘Mera Maati Mera Desh,’ which were enthusiastically embraced by the citizens of Tripura. He praised Prime Minister Modi for his vision and leadership in fostering a deep sense of nationalism across the country.
The Chief Minister called upon the people of Tripura to take a pledge towards the state’s overall development while participating in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, ensuring that the spirit of patriotism continues to drive the state’s progress.
