Agartala: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has announced that the “Save the Year” exams for Secondary (Madhyamik) and Higher Secondary (Class 12) students will be conducted in the last week of July. This was disclosed by Dr. Dhananjay Ganchoudhury, the President of TBSE, during a press conference today.
According to Dr. Ganchoudhury, 3,199 students in Secondary and 4,236 students in Higher Secondary will be eligible to sit for the exams this year. Students intending to appear for these exams must submit their applications to their respective schools between July 8 and 11. Schools are required to forward these applications to the TBSE office between July 12 and 15.
The announcement follows a series of re-evaluations requested after the final exam results. A total of 2,042 Secondary students and 1,385 Higher Secondary students had applied for re-evaluation. The re-evaluation led to changes in results for 747 Secondary students and 510 Higher Secondary students, with 21 Secondary students moving from fail to pass status. However, no Higher Secondary students who had failed passed after re-evaluation.
This year, out of 33,739 students who appeared for the Secondary exams, 29,534 passed, resulting in an initial pass rate of 87.54%. After re-evaluation, the total number of students who passed increased to 29,555, raising the pass rate slightly to 87.59%. For Higher Secondary, out of 25,350 students, 20,095 passed, resulting in a pass rate of 79.27%.
Dr. Dulal Dey, Secretary of TBSE, noted that the merit lists for both Secondary and Higher Secondary exams remain unchanged after the re-evaluation. Detailed results and further information are available on the TBSE website.
