Date: June 28, 2023: In an endeavor to enhance the travel experience of pilgrims attending the revered Kharchi Puja and Fair, Northeast Frontier Railway has launched two pairs of special DEMU trains. These trains have been operational since June 26 and will continue to run until July 3, providing a convenient mode of transportation for devotees.
The first pair of DEMU trains operates between Agartala and Dharmanagar, while the second pair connects Agartala and Sabroom. The introduction of these special trains comes in response to a letter penned by Subrata Choudhury, Additional Secretary of the Transport Department, Government of Tripura, to the Northeast Frontier Railway authority, emphasizing the necessity for improved travel options during the Kharchi festival.
The schedule for these special DEMU trains ensures timely departures and arrivals, optimizing the convenience of passengers. The train departs from Agartala at 5 am and arrives in Dharmanagar at 9:30 am. The return journey from Dharmanagar to Agartala commences at 10:35 am and concludes at 2 pm. Additionally, the Agartala-Sabroom train departs at 2:15 pm and reaches Sabroom by 4:35 pm, while the return journey from Sabroom departs at 5 pm and arrives back in Agartala at 9:35 pm.
