Agartala 25-04-23: A prepaid auto passenger service will be re-launched at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala today at 3 pm. This move comes in response to reports of passengers being harassed by some auto drivers at the airport, which has led to physical assaults on tourists traveling from abroad.
The Transport Minister, Sushanta Chowdhury, will attend the launch event, along with Transport Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma and MBB Airport Director KC Meena. The aim of the prepaid auto service is to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
The Minister has warned a section of auto drivers at the airport that strict action will be taken against them if they are found harassing any passengers in the airport. The introduction of the prepaid auto service is expected to provide a safe and hassle-free transportation option for passengers arriving at the airport.
This move is likely to be welcomed by both locals and tourists who have been affected by the negative behavior of some auto drivers. It is hoped that the prepaid auto service will make traveling to and from the airport a more pleasant experience for all.
