Aguli 05-08-2022: Agartala Deoghar Express passenger train was launched on 6th July 2018. Due to the epidemic situation, this train service was temporarily stopped. Recently it was closed again due to heavy floods in the state of Assam. On the special request of the State Government, the Ministry of Railways has provided two special trains for Agartala – Deogarh and Deogarh – Agartala. The first train will leave Agartala today at 7 pm and the second train will leave Agartala tomorrow at 3 pm. Both the trains will reach Deogarh at 7 am on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Approximately 2000 people and tomorrow 1800 will travel to Gurubhai Deoghar in today’s train. And tomorrow i.e. this August at 7 pm Agartala – Deogarh rail service will resume once a week every Saturday regularly. Agartala Deogarh Express train departs Agartala at 7 PM and reaches Deoghar at 7 AM on the 3rd day of departure.
The train covers a total distance of 1,474 km. The average speed of the train is 40.94 kmph. The train will again depart from Deoghar every Monday at 7:30 PM and reach Agartala on the day of departure at 5:45 PM. The train stops at 20 popular railway stations to reach Deogarh. The total time taken for the entire train journey is 36 hours. The train offers multiple classes of coaches for passengers to choose train seats/berths from classes which are Sleeper, Third AC and Second Seating.
There are currently 3 (nine) express train services operating in the state viz., Agartala – Silchar Express, Agartala – Sealdah (Kanchenjunga Express), Agartala – Bangalore Superfast Special, Agartala – Jirivam (Janastabdi Express), Agartala – Deogarh Express, Agartala – Ferozepur ( Tripura Sundari Express), Agartala-Bengaluru (Humsafar Express), Agartala-Anand Vihar (Tejas Rajdhani Express) and Agartala Ranikamalabati Express. DEMU train services are also running from Agartala to Dharmanagar / Agartala to Sabroom. The Government of Tripura has sent a special request to the Union Ministry to start the following train services as per public demand: i) Agartala-Mumbai Express Train Service. ii) Agartala-Jammu Express Train Service iii) Agartala-Guwahati Express Train Service.
