Agartala 30 Jan, 2025: Healthcare workers in Tripura are continuously working to provide uninterrupted healthcare services to the people, even reaching remote areas to ensure medical support. On January 28, healthcare workers from Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Hospital under Unakoti district conducted an immunization drive in the remote villages of Sadhu Chandra Para, Sarki Para, and Ramnarayan Para, located approximately 14 km away from Deovalley Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
During this program, 17 individuals, including 2 pregnant women and 15 children, received various vaccines to protect against multiple diseases. The vaccines administered included:
• Pentavalent Vaccine for protection against diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type B.
• Rotavirus Vaccine for diarrhea prevention.
• Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) & Fractional Inactivated Polio Vaccine (fIPV) for polio prevention.
• Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccine to prevent measles and rubella.
• Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine (Jenvac) to prevent Japanese encephalitis.
• Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) to prevent pneumonia.
• Vitamin A supplements to prevent night blindness.
• Tetanus-Diphtheria (TD) Vaccine for pregnant women to protect against tetanus and diphtheria.
Along with the immunization process, healthcare workers also conducted awareness sessions for parents and pregnant women, explaining the importance of vaccination for maternal and child health.
The immunization drive was attended by MPW Dipankar Banik, ASHA workers Antirung Reang and Kuslaiti Reang. The Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine shared this information through a press release.
