Agartala, January 29, 2025: A meeting of the Standing Committee on Social Justice of the West Tripura Zilla Parishad was held yesterday at the Zilla Parishad conference hall. The meeting was chaired by Khushbu Debbarma, the Chairperson of the Standing Committee. Present at the meeting were Bholai Goswami, the Sabhadhipati of the Zilla Parishad, Biswajit Shil, the Assistant Sabhadhipati, along with other committee members and officials from the concerned departments.
During the meeting, officials from the Social Welfare and Social Education Department provided updates on various welfare schemes. They reported that under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana 2.0 Yojana, 2,749 beneficiaries in the district received financial assistance until December of the current financial year, with ₹5,000 provided in three installments.
Additionally, under the Mukhyamantri Matrupushti Upahar Yojana, 6,348 pregnant women received ₹2,000 each as financial aid. Furthermore, under the Mukhyamantri Samajik Sahayata Prakalpa, 7,596 beneficiaries in the district are receiving a monthly social pension of ₹2,000.
