Teliamura 29 Oct, 2024: Today, an awareness and mega credit camp was held at Chitrangada Art Center in Teliamura, focusing on members of the Area Level Federation and Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The event was organized by the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission and Teliamura Municipality. Chief Whip of the Legislative Assembly, MLA Kalyani Saha Roy, inaugurated the camp.
Attendees included Teliamura Municipal Council Chairperson Rupak Sarkar, Chief Executive Officer Parimal Majumder, Deputy CEO Amit Roy Choudhury, and State Mission Manager of Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission, Asim Kumar Das. The opening ceremony was presided over by Municipal Council Vice-Chairperson Madhusudan Roy.
In her address, MLA Kalyani Saha Roy emphasized the importance of women’s self-reliance for a self-sufficient society, noting government initiatives that support SHG members in becoming financially independent to strengthen the rural economy. Deputy CEO Amit Roy Choudhury delivered the welcome address at the ceremony.
At the event, credit checks totaling INR 13.1 lakhs were distributed to seven SHGs under Teliamura Municipality. Additionally, three individuals received e-rickshaws from the Tripura Urban Livelihood Mission. Under the PM-SVANidhi scheme, 40 street vendors received umbrellas, and credit was provided to three small-scale business owners.
