Agartala, October 29, 2024: The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center in Tripura has achieved a significant milestone in cancer treatment by successfully performing a complex lung tumor surgery on a 36-year-old woman, marking the first of its kind in the state.
The patient had been experiencing persistent chest pain and sought medical consultation. After various diagnostic tests, she was referred to the cancer specialists at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center. On October 23, the patient was admitted, and a team of expert doctors began extensive investigations under their supervision. They identified a dangerous tumor in the lower lobe of her lung, which required immediate surgical intervention.
On October 28, 2024, the cancer surgeons at the center successfully removed the tumor. Currently, the patient remains under medical supervision in the hospital, and her condition is reported to be stable.
Expressing gratitude to the doctors, the patient’s family shared their appreciation for the opportunity to receive such complex surgery within the state, avoiding the need to travel outside. They praised the cancer center for its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare locally.
The Acting Health Director announced the success in a press release, commending the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center for its advancements in cancer treatment and its contribution to healthcare progress in the state.
