This will be Tripura’s third match of the season, following a disappointing start against Odisha, where no play occurred over the scheduled four days due to an unprepared ground. The umpires had to call off the game without a single ball being bowled.
With Mumbai’s team already in the state, they held a practice session at the MBB Ground earlier today. However, with low-pressure weather systems threatening rain in the coming days, the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) has taken precautionary measures to ensure the match goes ahead. After Mumbai’s practice, ground staff covered the entire field with tarpaulins to protect it from potential rain.
In light of Mumbai’s star-studded lineup, which includes notable players like Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur, authorities expect a significant crowd. To ensure spectator safety, Additional SP (Urban) reviewed security arrangements at the venue today. TCA Secretary Subrata Dey emphasized that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure the game proceeds smoothly, despite the weather threat.

MBB Ground Committee members, including Sanjay Bose, Nazmul Hossain, and Sumanta Sahar, have been working tirelessly to maintain the field in playable condition.
