Kadamtala, North Tripura, Oct 7: In a shocking late-night incident, despite BNSS Section 163 being enforced, a group of miscreants attacked Kadamtala market. They set fire to several shops and vandalized the area, creating chaos. As tensions escalated, the police were forced to open fire to disperse the unruly crowd, bringing the situation under control.
During the police action, one person, identified as Sultan Ahmed, was fatally shot, while another individual sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment. Senior police officials, including Inspector General (IG) KD Marak, promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
In a statement issued at 5:30 AM today, the North Tripura district police assured, “The situation in Kadamtala is now completely under control. Police are taking appropriate measures to ensure safety. We urge the public not to spread rumors.”
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, and additional forces have been deployed in the area to prevent further unrest. Citizens are being urged to remain calm and refrain from disseminating false information, as efforts to maintain peace continue.
This violent attack and subsequent police action have left the town in shock, with many expressing concerns over the growing unrest in the region.
