29 August 2024: In a remarkable achievement for Indian chess, Tripura’s young chess prodigy, Arshiya Das, clinched the gold medal in the Under-14 Girls Blitz category at the Commonwealth Chess Championship held in Sri Lanka. The talented 14-year-old finished with an impressive score of 7.5 points out of 9 rounds, showcasing her exceptional skills and strategic brilliance on the global stage.
Arshiya faced intense competition from participants across the Commonwealth nations, but her determination and unwavering focus led her to dominate the Blitz event, outmaneuvering her opponents with precision and confidence.
