Tripura 14, November 23: In a significant development on the morning of Kali Puja, a total of 14 individuals, including children and women, were apprehended in Sabroom for their alleged involvement in human trafficking activities related to the Rohingya community. The group comprised both Bangladeshi citizens and Rohingya refugees.
The incident unfolded on Monday when a group of 14, consisting of Bangladeshi nationals and Rohingya refugees, were detained in a covert operation at a makeshift camp in the Kamalasagar constituency. Local people helped the Border Security Force (BSF) catch the people.
The BSF later in the evening handed over the detainees to Madhupur police station for further investigation. Sharif Hossain, Jasim Uddin, Habibur Hossain and Maqbul Hossain are residents of Chandpur district, Bangladesh.
