Tripura, 31 Oct 2026: In a major development in the mysterious death of Pranay Dey, also known as June, from Teliamura, police have arrested an accused person in connection with the case. The arrested individual has been identified as Krishnadhan Sarkar.
The incident took place on the night of September 17, when Pranay Dey, a resident of Joynagar in Teliamura, was found lying in a blood-soaked condition near a motorcycle along the Teliamura–North Maharani road in the Maiganga area, close to Maiganga Chowmuhani.
After receiving information, fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued him in critical condition before taking him to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, the attending doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
Initially, the circumstances surrounding his death raised questions about whether it was a road accident or something more serious. Subsequently, following a written complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Teliamura Police registered a murder case and initiated an investigation.
After a prolonged investigation, police arrested Krishnadhan Sarkar under Teliamura Police Station Case No. 55/2026. He was subsequently produced before the Khowai Court, where police sought seven days of police remand for further interrogation.
Investigators are now questioning the arrested accused to establish the circumstances leading to Pranay’s death and determine whether any other individuals were involved in the incident. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
