Tripura, 04 Oct 2026: Around 400 NCC cadets participating in the Bir Bikram Ekta Camp / Special National Integration Camp (SNIC–I), Agartala 2026–27, explored Tripura’s rich heritage, biodiversity, historical landmarks, border areas and adventure activities as part of a series of educational and cultural visits organised by the 13 Tripura Battalion NCC under the aegis of the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region.
The visits were aimed at providing cadets with first-hand exposure to Tripura’s cultural heritage, history, natural beauty and strategic significance, while promoting national integration, environmental awareness, adventure and responsible citizenship.
The cadets visited the Mata Tripureswari Temple in Udaipur, where they learned about one of Tripura’s most important spiritual and cultural landmarks and its historical significance.
At Sepahijala Wildlife Sanctuary, the cadets experienced Tripura’s rich biodiversity and gained greater awareness of wildlife conservation, environmental protection and the importance of preserving natural resources.
The contingent also visited Neermahal in Melaghar, the iconic water palace situated in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake. The visit offered the cadets an opportunity to learn about Tripura’s royal heritage, architecture and cultural history.
As part of the programme, the cadets visited the Akhaura Integrated Check Post and adjoining border area, gaining valuable insights into India’s international border management, national security and the strategic importance of the region.
Adding an adventurous dimension to the programme, the cadets also participated in a paramotor activity at Melaghar. The experience encouraged courage, confidence, adventure and a willingness to take on new challenges.
The visits also provided cadets from different parts of the country an opportunity to interact with local communities, experience Tripura’s traditions and appreciate the state’s diverse cultural landscape.
By bringing together heritage, tourism, environmental awareness, national-security education and adventure, the programme became an important component of the Bir Bikram Ekta Camp / SNIC–I.
The participation of around 400 NCC cadets reflected the organisation’s commitment to nurturing disciplined, confident, culturally aware and responsible young citizens dedicated to national integration and nation building.
