Agartala, September 23, 2026: The Tripura Government has enhanced the Festival Grant by Rs 300 for various categories of employees, workers and pensioners for the financial year 2026–27. The revised grant will be applicable for the upcoming Durga Puja festival.
According to a government press brief, the enhanced Festival Grant will benefit employees and workers across several categories, including Group-C and Group-D employees, Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), Part-Time Workers, contractual and casual workers, pensioners and family pensioners, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, Home Guards/SPOs, priests of government-run temples, pump operators and daily-rated workers.
For Group-C and Group-D employees, including those recruited on a fixed-pay basis against posts kept in abeyance, the Festival Grant has been increased from Rs 2,100 to Rs 2,400.
DRWs engaged with the prior concurrence of the Finance Department will also receive Rs 2,400, compared to Rs 2,100 previously. PTWs, contractual workers and casual workers covered under the specified conditions will receive Rs 2,610, up from Rs 2,310.
Similarly, Anganwadi Workers/Helpers and Home Guards/SPOs will receive Rs 2,610, while priests of government-run temples will receive Rs 2,400. Part-time or irregular pump operators under the PWD (DWS) and RD (Panchayat) departments will receive Rs 1,350, compared to Rs 1,050 earlier.
The total financial implication of the Festival Grant has been estimated at Rs 47.16 crore. The additional financial requirement arising from the Rs 300 enhancement is estimated at Rs 6.14 crore.
Approximately 1,48,501 employees and workers are expected to benefit from the Festival Grant. In addition, around 85,916 pensioners and family pensioners will also receive the benefit.
The government has also clarified that an employee can avail of the Festival Grant on the occasion of any one of nine festivals—Durga Puja, Christmas, Garia Puja, Buddha Purnima, Eid-Uz-Zuha, Bengali New Year, Eid-ul-Fitr, Guru Nanak’s Birthday or Mahavir Jayanti.
Festival Advance Also Revised
Alongside the Festival Grant, the government has outlined revised rates for Festival Advance.
Regular Group-A, Group-B, Group-C and Group-D employees, as well as specified DRWs, will be eligible for a Festival Advance of Rs 20,000. The revised advance for Anganwadi Workers/Helpers and Home Guards is Rs 5,000, while ASHA Workers will receive Rs 2,000.
The government estimates that approximately 1 lakh employees will benefit from the Festival Advance, with a total fund requirement of around Rs 183.77 crore.
Employees seeking Festival Advance will have to apply through the NextGen HRMS online application system. However, the press brief states that no separate application is required for availing the Festival Grant.
The procedure for employee applications and preparation of bills by Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) for Festival Advance has been issued through a Finance Department memorandum dated September 21, 2026.
