Tripura, 18 Sep 2026: A special ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ (Lamp of Blessings) programme was organised in Sabroom under the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday and honour his long journey of public service.
The programme was conducted under the administrative supervision of the Sabroom Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office in South Tripura district. The lighting of lamps symbolised hope, progress, positivity and goodwill in the border region.

The initiative was held at several important locations, including the Sabroom Land Port, a key centre of international trade, Maitri Setu, the SDM office, Sabroom Nagar Panchayat area and multiple Fair Price Shops.
The programme was conducted under the overall supervision and direct monitoring of Sabroom SDM Suman Rakshit. Deputy Collectors and Magistrates, departmental employees, local representatives, and senior and young citizens participated in the event.
Officials present at the programme stated that the initiative aimed to take the ideals and principles of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service closer to people living in marginalised communities.
The lighting of the ‘Ashirwad Ka Diya’ conveyed a message of unity, welfare and collective goodwill among people from different sections of society. The participation of government officials and local residents reflected the spirit of public involvement in the programme.
