Tripura, August 19, 2026: A minor girl who had gone missing from Khowai has been rescued from Panaji, Goa, by a team of the Khowai Women Police Station following an investigation.
According to police, a case was registered at Khowai Women Police Station on June 5, 2026, bearing Case No. 2026/WKH/008, under Sections 137(2), 140(3) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Following the registration of the case, police launched an investigation to trace the missing girl. During the investigation, officers and personnel of Khowai Women Police Station successfully traced and recovered the minor from Panaji, Goa, on Tuesday.
Police said the girl would be handed over to her guardian after completing all necessary legal procedures.
The successful recovery brings an end to the search for the missing minor, while further legal procedures in connection with the case are being followed.
