Kailashahar, 11 June: In a significant step towards promoting menstrual hygiene and ensuring the well-being of girl students, the Lions Club of Kailashahar donated a sanitary napkin vending machine to Bhagini Nivedita Higher Secondary School on Thursday.
The machine was formally handed over to the school’s Headmaster-in-Charge, Sanjib Ghosh, at around 11 a.m. The programme was attended by Lions Club President Shukla Banik, Secretary Bhaskar Dhar, Treasurer Ratnadeep Chakraborty, senior member Dr. Debashish Tarafdar, and Service Chairperson Sanjib Chowdhury.
Speaking on the occasion, Shukla Banik said that the vending machine was provided in response to a request from the school, with the aim of ensuring better access to sanitary products for girl students. She noted that the Lions Club has been actively engaged in various social welfare initiatives and remains committed to supporting students and the wider community.
The school authorities welcomed the initiative and expressed their gratitude to the Lions Club for its contribution towards improving health and hygiene facilities for students.
