Agartala: Jun 02: A 50-member student delegation from Tripura left for Kurukshetra, Haryana, this morning to participate in the five-day educational exchange programme ‘Yuva Sangam’, organised under the Government of India’s flagship initiative ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.
The students departed from Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala, under the supervision of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala, which is coordinating the programme in the state. The delegation comprises 26 female and 24 male students selected from different parts of Tripura.
As part of the Yuva Sangam Phase-VI programme, the participants will visit the nodal institute, NIT Kurukshetra, and engage in a series of academic, cultural and community-oriented activities aimed at promoting national integration and cultural exchange.
Among the selected participants is Sayan Bhowmik from the Charilam block of Sepahijala district.
The delegation is being accompanied by five faculty members from NIT Agartala– Dr. Paramvir Singh, Dr. Sukanta Goswami, Dr. Nancy Sharma, Dr. Karuna Kiran and Abhishek Kumar Yadav.
Speaking to the media before departure, Dr. Paramvir Singh said the programme provides an opportunity for students to showcase Tripura’s culture, traditions and heritage while gaining exposure to the cultural and social fabric of Haryana. During the five-day visit, participants will take part in cultural activities and interact with students and communities from different regions of the country.
