Aguli 18-07-2022: According to the schedule, the 15th of the country was held in the state along with the whole country on Monday. Voting for the presidential election.
All legislators including the chief minister, former chief minister, opposition party leaders voted one by one in the lobby of the state assembly from 10 o’clock in the morning.
The total number of voters in Tripura in the presidential election is 62. Among them 60 MLAs and two MPs. The two MPs will cast their votes at Parliament House in Delhi.
The ruling coalition is 100% sure of winning even though there is tension between the ruling coalition and the opposition regarding the presidential election.
Voting will continue till 5 pm. Counting of votes will be held on July 21. The current President Ram Nath Kovind’s term ends on July 24. The newly elected President will be sworn in at the Central Hall of Parliament on July 25.
