Agartala: Dec 31. A daring burglary was reported at the Jamjuri Forest Department office under Kakraban police station, where thieves broke into the premises and fled with a desktop computer and around ₹50,000 in cash.
According to sources, the incident took place late Tuesday night. The burglars allegedly broke the lock of the rear grill, forced open the door, and entered the office. They then smashed open an almirah and decamped with the valuables kept inside.
Following the incident, Kakraban police reached the spot and launched an investigation with the help of a dog squad.
However, the effectiveness of the dog squad’s operation has sparked public skepticism. Locals are questioning whether the squad involved was properly trained or merely deployed as a formality.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, while further details are awaited.
