The 112th birth anniversary festival of eminent poet Abed Mollah Barma will be organised from January 1 to January 3 at Nalchhara Dashami Ghat. The three-day event will be held under the initiative of the Department of Tribal Welfare, with support from the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs and other departments.
The festival will be inaugurated by Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. To ensure the smooth conduct of the programme, a reception committee has been formed with Education Minister Kishore Barman as the Chairman, along with several sub-committees.
On the occasion of the festival, a fair will be organised at the venue, featuring exhibition stalls set up by various government departments. In addition, cultural competitions including folk music, Holi songs, quiz contests, sit-and-draw, and debate competitions will be held.
Every evening, audiences will also get to enjoy vibrant cultural programmes presented by renowned artists from within the state and outside, celebrating the rich cultural heritage associated with the legacy of poet Abed Mollah Barma.
