Tripura, 22 Dec 2025: A daring burglary was reported once again in Kadamtala, spreading fear and concern among local residents. The incident took place under Kadamtala police station limits, in East Kadamtala Ward No. 3 under the Kadamtala Gram Panchayat.
According to sources, the victim, Tapan Malakar, son of late Jalandhar Malakar, is a professional driver. On Sunday evening, his wife Krishna Malakar locked the house and went to attend the weekly kirtan at the nearby Kalachand Temple. During this time, the house was completely vacant.
Taking advantage of the situation, the miscreants allegedly broke the tin boundary of the house and gained entry. When Krishna Malakar returned home, she found the door lock broken and immediately informed the neighbours. Soon after, local residents and elected representatives of the Kadamtala Gram Panchayat reached the spot.
Upon entering the house, it was found that the main door lock was broken, all lockers of the almirah were smashed open, and household items were scattered across the room. The burglars reportedly looted cash amounting to ₹70,000, two pairs of gold earrings, one gold ring, six bangles, two pairs of anklets, along with other valuable items kept inside the almirah.
On receiving information, police from Kadamtala police station promptly reached the scene and began an investigation. A case has been registered based on a written complaint filed by the house owner.
With repeated incidents of theft being reported in the Kadamtala police station area, a sense of panic has gripped the locality. Police are continuing their investigation to trace the culprits and uncover the mystery behind the recurring burglaries.
