Agartala: Dec 19. To address long-pending civic issues in Kanchanpur Market, a special discussion meeting was held on Friday at the Durga Mandap under the leadership of Kanchanpur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ashish Biswas. The meeting focused on market development, traffic congestion, parking management, and proper waste disposal.
Following the discussion, the SDM conducted a thorough inspection of the entire Kanchanpur Market area to assess the problems on the ground and identify immediate solutions.
During the inspection, authorities seized firecrackers worth approximately ₹10,000 from a shop operating illegally within the market area.
Speaking to the reporters later, SDM Ashish Biswas said the meeting and inspection were part of a coordinated effort to improve overall market infrastructure, regulate traffic flow, strengthen parking arrangements, and ensure effective waste management. He added that several steps have already been initiated to resolve the issues at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Kanchanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Srikanta Rudra Pal, the Sub-Divisional DCM, ADC Administration Sub-Zonal Officer, Kanchanpur Market Committee Secretary Tabul Barua, and other members of the market committee. Market committee representatives highlighted existing challenges and inconveniences faced by traders and the public during the discussion.
