The meeting was organised by the district administration with support from the Health and Family Welfare Department, ahead of the campaign scheduled to begin on December 21.
The meeting was chaired by Sabhadhipati of North Tripura Zilla Parishad, Aparna Nath, and attended by senior district officials along with representatives from key line departments. The district has set a target to administer two drops of the polio vaccine to all children aged 0-5 years. ASHA workers will play a frontline role in ensuring vaccination at their respective booths. The district-level formal inauguration of the programme will take place at the Trauma Centre of North Tripura District Hospital. Volunteers from ICDS and NYK have been instructed to actively participate in spreading awareness among the public.
