Agartala: Dec 17. The Departments of Political Science and Kokborok of Government Degree College, Khumulwng has organized an inspiring educational study tour to Science City on Tuesday. The tour was conducted as part of academic enrichment activities under the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020, with the objective of enhancing students’ practical knowledge and experiential learning.
A total of 55 students from both departments have participated in this study tour. Students of the department of Kokborok were guided by Rabindra Debbarma, Asst. professor & head of the department (In-charge), accompanied by Soma Debbarma and Suman Debbarma.
The department of political science was led by Prasenjit Debbarma, Asst. professor and head of the department (In- charge), with academic support from Gauri Chakrabarti, senior faculty member, Abhijit Debbarma, and B. Eden Debbarma.
During the visit, students were exposed to various scientific exhibits and interactive learning modules, which helped them develop a broader understanding of the relationship between science, society, governance, and cultural studies. The tour provided an opportunity for students to link theoretical concepts taught in
classrooms with real-world applications, thereby fostering critical thinking, curiosity, and interdisciplinary learning.
The study tour concluded successfully with both students and teachers expressing satisfaction over the academic value and learning outcomes of the visit. The departments also extended their sincere gratitude to Dr Bhupendra Debbarma, principal In-charge of Government Degree College, Khumulwng, for his encouragement, guidance, and continuous support in organizing such meaningful educational initiatives.
