Tripura, 16 Dec 2025: Grief and anger gripped the entire Dharamnagar subdivision on Monday following the untimely and mysterious death of Prasenjit Sarkar, a resident of Kameshwar village. Demanding a fair and impartial investigation, villagers along with residents from across Dharamnagar organized a massive silent march seeking justice.
More than a hundred people participated in the peaceful procession, holding mobile phone flashlights as a mark of protest and solidarity. Prasenjit, a young man from Kameshwar village, was working as a delivery executive with a courier company. According to local sources, a dispute related to a delivery allegedly led to the circumstances surrounding his untimely death.
The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow, evident in the tearful eyes of Prasenjit’s family members, relatives, and neighbours. The silent march began from Kameshwar village and proceeded through the ISBT area of Dharamnagar on Monday evening. Without raising slogans, participants conveyed their protest through quiet presence, united by a single demand:
“We want a fair investigation into Prasenjit’s death,”
“We demand exemplary punishment for the guilty,” and
“Ensure justice.”
Before the march, a tribute meeting was held at a public gathering point in Kameshwar Bazaar. People paid homage by offering flowers and lighting candles before Prasenjit’s portrait, followed by observing a one-minute silence to pray for the peace of his soul.
Local residents stated that this was not just the loss of one family, but a serious question confronting society as a whole. They demanded a swift, transparent, and unbiased investigation to identify and punish those responsible.
Conscious citizens of the area warned that if prompt administrative action is not taken, they would be compelled to launch a larger movement in the coming days. They made it clear that the protest would continue peacefully until justice is delivered.
At present, one voice echoes across Dharamnagar justice for Prasenjit Sarkar. The grieving family and the public now look toward the administration, waiting for the truth to emerge and for the guilty to face appropriate punishment.
