Tripura, 11 Dec 2025: Tripura is gearing up for the fourth National Lok Adalat of the year, scheduled for December 13, where nearly 35,000 cases will be taken up for settlement. The initiative will be conducted simultaneously at the Tripura High Court as well as all district and sub-divisional courts across the state.
According to official data, a total of 34,979 cases have been listed, including both pending matters and pre-litigation disputes. Out of these, 29,013 cases are currently pending in courts, while another 5,966 cases have been included for early settlement before litigation.
The cases cover a wide spectrum of disputes, such as motor accident compensation, family conflicts, bank loan recovery, cheque bounce cases, consumer complaints, traffic violations, dowry and domestic violence matters, civil issues, and service-related grievances. Cheque bounce cases alone make up a significant share, with over 13,600 cases listed.
The Tripura High Court will also place 23 cases for disposal during the Adalat.
State authorities have issued guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme. Chief Justice Amarnath Gaur has instructed officials to ensure prompt, transparent, and hassle-free settlement of disputes. Secretary of the Tripura State Legal Services Authority, Ruma Dutta Chowdhury, stated that the government aims to provide people with quick and amicable resolutions through this statewide effort.
