Agartala: Dec 09. A joining programme of the Tipra Motha party held at Chandra Mahal Tuesday afternoon at 3PM witnessed 21 leaders and 84 voters from various political backgrounds formally entering the party. The event was organised under the joint initiative of the mandal leadership of the Chawmanu and Karamcherra Assembly Constituencies.
Minister Brishaketu Debbarma, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia, and MDC Hangsha Kumar Tripura jointly addressed the media, highlighting the party’s ideology while welcoming the new members.
Minister Debbarma said the new members would soon organise another gathering in Chailengta to mobilise more supporters, adding that the event will be attended by Founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma.
He dismissed the BJP’s allegations of violence, asserting that party founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma’s belief that “the pen is mightier than the gun” guides Tipra Motha’s political ideology of love and brotherhood.
CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia expressed confidence that Tipra Motha would return to power in the 2026 TTAADC polls with a decisive mandate, targeting 26 out of 28 seats. Responding to claims that the party is losing ground, he criticised the ongoing fund crisis in ADC, stating that “responsibility without adequate funds cannot drive development.” He added that the TTAADC administration will soon hold a press meet to clarify all development and fund-related issues.
The new joiners alleged negligence by the present BJP leadership toward long-time workers. They accused the party of corruption, rising unemployment, and failing to fulfil its 2018 manifesto. They claimed the BJP has “turned into a company where people work like employees,” and questioned the delay in conducting the Village Committee elections despite being in power.
Those who joined today include former mandal-level office bearers and local leaders.
