Tripura, 09 Dec 2025: Residents of the Gokulnagar area were left alarmed on Tuesday morning after coming across a severely damaged Swift car lying inside a roadside forest near the Rasharmatha area along the Agartala–Sabroom road.
Locals who were out for their morning walk noticed the car completely smashed, with its number plate broken into pieces and scattered around the site. According to residents, the incident appears to have occurred late at night. However, some locals raised suspicions, stating that if it were a normal road accident, the front portion of the vehicle would have been extensively damaged. Instead, the rear portion of the car was found badly shattered, leading many to believe that the vehicle may have been deliberately attacked from behind.
Although there were no reports of any injuries or casualties, the incident has created fear and confusion among the people of the area.
Police sources said the incident took place at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. When police reached the spot, no occupants or injured persons were found at the scene. The identity of the vehicle owner, the origin of the car, and the reason behind the damage remain unknown, raising several unanswered questions.
Meanwhile, a section of local residents suspect that the incident may be linked to a clash among drug peddlers over illegal trade during the night. However, police have not yet confirmed the cause and an investigation is underway.
