Agartala, Dec 8: The Tripura Human Rights Commission will observe International Human Rights Day on December 10 with a programme scheduled at 11 AM at the Gorkhabasti Prajna Bhavan. This year’s global theme for Human Rights Day is “Human Rights: Our Global Essentials.”
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha will formally inaugurate the state-level programme. Director General of Police Anurag, State Advocate General Shakti Majumder, Chairperson of the Tripura Women’s Commission Barnali Debbarma, and Law Department Secretary Shukla Das will attend as distinguished guests.
The event will be presided over by Justice (Retd.) Arindam Lodh, Chairperson of the Tripura Human Rights Commission.
Earlier today, the Commission’s Secretary Babu Riyang briefed the media at the THRC office in Shyamali Bazar, sharing details of the upcoming programme and extending an invitation to all to participate. Police Superintendent Dibakar Pal, a special invitee to the Commission, was also present at the press meet.
