Tripura, 08 Dec 2025: In the wake of strict enforcement of laws to identify and act against illegal infiltrators, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel apprehended a Bangladeshi youth while he was attempting to cross the international border.
According to the report, the incident occurred in the Phoromura border area under Khowai Police Station. The detained individual, identified as Abul Hossain, was reportedly attempting to return to Bangladesh when BSF jawans intercepted him while he was crossing the Indo–Bangladesh border.
Today, BSF personnel handed him over to Khowai Police Station for further legal action. During preliminary questioning, the detained Bangladeshi national revealed that he had been living illegally in India for the past seven to eight years.
He further stated that he had entered India around 2018–2019 in search of work. When questioned about his identity, he said his name was “Amul Hossain”, and that he originally hails from Bagda in Bangladesh. He also mentioned that he had travelled with three others but was unable to identify them clearly.
Police sources said that necessary action will be taken against him as per the law.
